COVID – 19 Update and Re-Opening Plan

Dear Ann Arbor Assembly of God Family,

We pray you all are well and have been finding creative ways to stay connected to your friends and extended families during the quarantine.  Our church leadership has been doing their best to keep in touch, but we definitely miss seeing all of you face to face.  We are hoping the ban on large gatherings will be lifted soon.  Our leadership team has been discussing a plan to reopen our church building on Pentecost Sunday, May 31 st.  The church has been cleaned and sanitized to prepare for reopening.  This plan for church services will be reassessed weekly and will be based on our governor’s restrictive order and advice from our District Superintendent and our General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God.

    Plans include:

  • Continuing live streaming our church services each week.
  • Beginning on May 31st, we are tentatively planning to reopen with two worship services but no Sunday morning classes.
      • 9:00am Service will be for adults (18 years and up) only. Any immunocompromised adults are encouraged  to attend the early service as you are comfortable doing so.
      • 11:00am Service will be for families, children and youth are welcome. Victory Kids ministry (6-12 year olds) will occur in their classroom.  Teachers and volunteers will have taken precaution to wear face masks,  sanitize hands, and utilize social distancing within the classroom.  The nursery and tot classrooms will be open for parents to supervise their own children with live streaming available of the service.
The sanctuary has been set up to accommodate social distancing guidelines.Face masks and gloves will be available and are encouraged.  Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the building.  Precautions are being taken to ensure the health and well being of our church family while we plan for your return.

Hebrews 10:25 says to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together.  Community is vital to the body of Christ and we are making tentative plans to come together again for in-person worship services.

Please watch for future emails to confirm our re-open date.
